the security doors...

We have spent quite a lot of money upgrading our front entry door, but still wanted a security door... found these today! Very happy that we'll be able to show off our door, but still feel secure in summer when we leave the door open... and the cats wont be able to escape!

the developers approval...

We have developers approval - WOOHOO!!

Henley just need to forward them our 5 star energy rating once we have signed the contract.

the admin has left the company...

Received a phone call today from the Admin Manager 'V' at Henley just asking a few questions on where we are at with our contract and touching base with us...

It appears our admin contact 'S' is no longer working for them... We were getting the feeling in the last few weeks that she wasn't really concentrating on our job...

Still dont have a price on connecting our water tank to the laundry (the paperwork is still in the 'estimating' department).

Our contract however should be mailed out to us this week coming so it looks like we're still on target for a signed contract on July 2nd...

Apparently we'll be assigned a new admin in the next few weeks.

the spare bedroom suite...

Visited Focus On Furniture at DFO Essendon this morning, and placed this bedroom suite on a 6 month layby. It's for one of our spare bedrooms. Cost $799 - includes QS bed, two side tables and the tall boy. Very happy!

the outdoor lights...

Well we were at it again this weekend... shopping shopping shopping... just try and stop us!

Visited Beacon Lighting again, and picked up two of these outdoor Lancelot lights in copper, reduced down from $99.95 to $49.95 each. They will go on the columns on our front porch, and they match the design of our front door, with the 6 glass panels. I couldn't find a pic in copper, but here's what they look like in black. We may eventually pant them anyway to match the fascia etc if the copper doesn't look right.

the contract signing...

Scheduled for July 2nd!!!

the tender queries answered...

Today our admin came back to us with answers regarding our few remaining tender queries...

1. Haven't heard anything back from the developer after their meeting on 29-05-09, we assume they viewed our plans then... if not I guess they meet this Friday again anway - so SHOULD hear something back soonish.

2. In regards to connecting our water tank to the laundry, they will do a rainbank system to the cold water connections (but asked us to check with the manufacturer of our washing machine as some machines are not meant to be used with unfiltered water - in answer to this, Aaron will just put a filter on after handover). YAY - in all my excitement about hearing that YES they can do it, I forgot to ask the price!

3. The contract signing date for all First Home Owner clients is 2 July. They are working towards getting all documents out to clients within the next 2 weeks.

4. There is no penalty for signing after the date on the tender document.

the bedroom pendants...

Well we just got home from Beacon Lighting. Thought we'd check out what items they had on clearance. BONUS. Picked up pendant lights for each of our spare bedrooms, originally $89.99, reduced down to $39.99 each. That's all three spare bedrooms done now for $120! We're stoked.

the outdoor furniture...

Found this outdoor setting from a place in Murrumbeena. It's exactly the look we're after... very pub "beer garden!" It's now added to the wish list!

http://www.furnituresales.com.au/default.htm For the above table 1600mm x 900mm we're looking at $1095, and for matching bench seats 1500mm long $670 each. We think we might get some small bench seats for the end of the table too. All the pieces are custom made, so we can measure up and decide on sizes later. Love it love it love! I think this will be our Christmas present to each other!

the IKEA shopping spree...

Thanks to the IKEA vouchers for Aaron's birthday... we spent today at IKEA shopping! Had... and still have... an ENORMOUS list of goodies we would like for the new home. Above are some that we purchased today...

the road update (4)...

We have kerbs! ... we left our mark!
